The Covid-19 Pandemic has affected each one of us in so many ways. For many families it has meant turning to a food bank in order to put food on the table. That is why this holiday season I would like to help raise money for Gleaners Community Food Bank. Gleaners has seen an increased demand due to the pandemic and are there helping people across southeastern Michigan who are struggling with food insecurity.
Watching the news, I see the long lines for food banks and feel so helpless. Covid-19 presented itself as a unique challenge because the safest option for me and my community is for me to stay home as much as I am able to. How could I help meet a need and raise awareness for an issue facing so many of my neighbors? A virtual food drive!
