A SigEp who lives in the metro Detroit suburbs called a SigEp who lives downtown to catch-up over the holidays. The conversation drifted to the impact that COVID-19 has had on Michiganders across all industries. We discussed how we could safely provide assistance to local families hit hardest by the pandemic. Food insecurity across the USA has tripled in households with children in 2020.
Keeping in mind the SigEp principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love, we invite Alumni and Friends of SigEp across Michigan to join us in helping provide critically needed funds for our neighbors served by Gleaners Community Food Bank. Gleaners operates distribution centers in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties providing food to more than 500 partner soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and other agencies throughout southeast Michigan.
Our goal is $5,000 by December 25th which would provide 15,000 meals to local families. At Gleaners, 92 cents of every donated dollar goes to food and food programs. Gleaners is a 501[c][3] non-profit organization. Your donation is 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Thank you for joining us in helping our neighbors this holiday season.
