In Livingston County, 8.5% of the population is currently facing food insecurity. That's over 16,000 people in our community alone. Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person in a household to live an active, healthy life. Oftentimes, you may not even know when your neighbor or classmate is going through this struggle. With Thanksgiving coming up, we want everybody to be able to enjoy a meal with their family and be relieved of this burden. Brighton High School has the opportunity to make an impact on our community through Gleaners Community Food Bank. By donating one dollar, you can provide three meals for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Help support your community by donating to the BHS Food Drive, which will run from October 13th until November 8th.
