Amidst the murmuring pines and hemlocks in majestic Algonquin Park, Canada, emerges Camp Tamakwa, a magical children’s village founded in 1936 by naturalist “Unca” Lou Handler and celebrated canoeist Omer Stringer. A nurturing, intimate and spirited camp environment, Tamakwa provides a transformative experience for children where they thrive and accomplish milestones every day. For 85 years, campers and staff who attended Tamakwa regard it as “the best days and times of their lives.
In alignment with Tamakwa’s Values and a desire to leave the campsite better than we found it, we are asking Tamakwans to make a difference in the lives of those in and around Southern Michigan experiencing food insecurity by donating to this virtual food drive. No donation is too small.
