November is “Homeless Awareness Month”. As a way of giving back to those who may not have a warm home or plenty of food in the fridge for the holidays, the South Hills Middle School Be the Change Club will be collecting non-perishable items, as well as monetary donations that will be donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Starting Monday, November 13th, donation boxes will be found in all ELA classrooms, as well as the front office. Students will be able to bring in items through Friday, November 17th. We will also be holding a Virtual Drive this year, which will run from the 13th through the 21st of November. As an added incentive, the ELA class that collects the most items/money will win an ice cream party! If donating virtually, be sure to select your, or your student’s, correct ELA teacher. Let’s work together to make the holidays a little brighter for families throughout southeastern Michigan.
